Kari McKnight, RD

Educator

Kari McKnight has been a registered dietitian for the past ten years. Her passion for food and nutrition first began when she was a competitive synchronized swimmer and a national level synchro coach. The relationship between good nutrition and peak athletic performance steered Kari towards the field of nutrition in university.

Kari graduated from the University of Alberta in 1998, spent the next year living in South Africa then returned to Edmonton in early 2000 to complete her internship/practicum in Capital Health. Kari has had extensive experience in clinical nutrition especially with patients that have kidney failure, and in community nutrition having worked at Alberta Milk.

Kari is passionate about the pursuit of good nutrition and enjoys volunteering at the local level in developing continuing education opportunities for dietitians. Kari is one of Wholesum Nutrition’s premier speakers and has captivated audiences throughout Alberta with her dynamic and engaging presentations on a wide variety of nutrition topics. In her spare time, Kari volunteers as a synchronized swimming judge and keeps busy with her husband, daughter  and puppy.
